Veneers only cover the front surface of the tooth. They are different from implants as they replace the entire tooth structure. Crowns, on the other hand, encase the entire tooth, which is entirely different from veneers.

Preparing for Your Dental Appointment
Before getting veneers, you need to set up an appointment to consider your choices and how many veneers you want to be placed on your teeth.
If you have misaligned teeth, we may need to align them first with braces or Invisalign.
We will assess your dental health, do x-rays and check your mouth for signs of decay and gum problems. The presence of these conditions may not make you a good candidate for veneers until they are resolved.
How Are Veneers Placed on Teeth?
We will assess the fit, shape, and shade of your veneers to make sure they look natural. Before attachment, a teeth cleaning is performed to keep bacteria from being trapped under the veneers, which can cause decay.
A grinding tool is then used to create a rough texture that allows easy attachment of the veneers. Dental cement is used to make veneers stick to the teeth, which are then hardened by ultraviolet light.
